Ciox Health Melbourne Network Design Assignment

Abstract
At present, there are several publications that focused on the field of networking. Due to considerable rise in the areas like network designing, subnet, IP address, routing protocol, access control etc. helps in enhancing the effectiveness of networks. In this note, it can be stated that the first step of networking is to record the required information collected from the site of Ciox Health Melbourne. After that, the network design needs to be showed, and its activities should be demonstrated by considering the IP address. In the next step, the routing protocol and access control list need to be stated. Here, it can be mentioned that, before accessing control, the configuration of the switches and routers needs to be done. In the next step, host configuration, server and access points are provided. The last step considers the estimated timeline and budget required for the project followed by a conclusion.

Introduction
This Network Design assignment tries to shed light on the importance of the significant rise in the area of network designing, routing protocols, IP address, subnets, access control etc. to enhance the effectiveness of various networks exist in an organisation. This report considers Ciox Health Melbourne and focuses on network activities of the organisation. Collection of the information for the site can be regarded as the first step.

1. Identification of Project Scope and Requirements
1.1 Explaining the Project Scope
Presentation of network design, explanation of network operations and IP address are done. Discussion of routing protocol and access control is also an essential part, and it should be configured with switches and routers. After that configuration of the hosts, servers and access points are also needs to be taken into account. This report also considers the estimated timeline and budget.

1.2 Explaining the Project Requirements
The following are the essential requirements for the network set up of Ciox Health Melbourne.
  • Network set up should consider the system of HQ and other sites which uses same internet access
  • There should be proper alignment between both wired and wireless networks and can also be used in smartphones and tablets.
  • The network segment should support WLAN network to ensure proper connection between wireless devices
  • Security aspects also need to be considered in both sites as well as headquarters order to protect customers information
  • wireless access points should be able to create custom subnets for proper connections
  • Proper configuration needs to be done between HQ and two other sites
2. Demonstrating the Network Design and providing Justification
2.1 Drawing the Logical network Design
Figure 1: Logical Design of Ciox Network

Justification: The above figure shows the network of Ciox Health. With the help of this logical network design, internet accessibility and reliability of the other two sites of Ciox Health can be easily explained. This figure also depicts that the customer platform is beneficial for Ciox Health to gain details information about the customers. In this note, it can be stated that the customer platform is considering the same server to arrange network configurations properly.

Justification: From the above IP address table, it can be mentioned that subnet classifications are performing for the setting up the network properly. This table, with the help of CIDR mask and address spaces, also clearly shows that the CIDR IP address scheme, is used for the system. The key reason behind using this scheme is CIDR is considered as the form of classless addressing and which is more effective in comparison to classful IP addressing.

2.3 Mentioning Static and Dynamic Routing Protocols and Its Justification2.3.1 RIP, EIGRP, OSPF

Justification: Routing information protocol (RIP) is taken into consideration to ensure the communication between different network segments. To make sure about working of routing protocol, Ciox Health is using various Ip networks which are already registered.

2.3.2 Access Control List (ACL) commands

Above access control list (ACL) configuration can be applied on the router of Ciox HQ to avoid any unauthorised access of data by using the same portal.
From the above screenshot, it can be noticed about the security measures that ICMP packets transferred through various PCs and servers. PC1 of the HQ network can easily communicate with PC14 of Site1 and PC2 of Site2. However, PC1 cannot be connected with PC4 of the customer network. Similarly, PC4 is also not able to communicate with PC's related to any of Ciox’s network segments.

3. Network Configuration
3.1 Packet Tracer Network Diagram

3.2 Configuring the Switch
Above mentioned switch configuration commands within this Network Design assignment shows different interfaces and VLAN commands which has been taken into consideration on the Ciox HQ’s administration network.

3.3 Routing Configurations
From the above routing configuration commands provided in the present Network Design assignment, it can be noticed that it shed light on the IP address, classification of subnets, routing, access configuration etc. which is applied on the network.

3.4 Host IP Configurations
Different IP details and host details of Ciox network has been shown in the above diagram. Here, it can be noted that a default gateway is considered for the router addresses to maintain the same interface for communication.

3.5 Configuration of Access points and Servers
From the above figure provided in this Network Design assignment, it can be seen the configuration between wireless access points with WPA2 (authentication type) and AES (encryption method). Here the password is PassKey_1.
The above screenshot provided in the Network Design assignment shows the configuration of DNS service to develop the platform of Ciox Health Melbourne. It will help the organisation to run the organisation between employees and customers in the way they want to happen.
